Planning Start Of The Film Opening

In this blog I will be discussing my ideas and thoughts about how I think the start of the film opening should be.

Me and my partner both agree on that we want the story to have a very mysterious vibe but we want it to start of with suspense of something scary to keep the viewers on edge right at the start of the opening. It is common for many films to start off their psychological horror film like that. They start it off with automatic suspense.

My ideas for how I would want the film to start are I want the film to start of music like the one at the beginning of "Get Out" I would like for the film to start with that music one head light with a dark figure of a person standing there and as we show you an important person to the main character the dark figure comes closer and closer until when the figure is there the person just poof disappears. I really want to do that scene as a POV so the viewers can see it in the eyes of the character. Me and my partner want that to be a flashback and we will show it by making an instantaneous cut to the main characters life. We want to keep the lighting dark and eerie to keep the mysterious vibe.

We both know this is a 2 minute film opening but we want to make sure the audience watching is watching it as if its a full on film. We want to give the audience our full and complete attention.

Planning How Will I Start My Production

In this blog I will be talking about my ideas for how I will start my production.

It is really up to me for starting production my partner has been waiting on me and there has been times I am waiting on him both our schedules are very busy most of time so we have not had a real chance to start on production. We are planning to start working on it very soon. During spring break we will try to spend as much time as possible working on it together. We have both been thinking for our film opening to start off with a traumatizing event happening to the main character that would scar them and start the spiral of the main characters mental descent.

We are planning to catch up on production so later on it will not be a disaster for us but we will start working on production very soon. But we are planning to start it in the order of brainstorming ideas and taking practice shots at areas we think could be fitting for our film.

Planning Story Board And Production Timeline

In this blog I will be talking about on my plans for story boarding and what production timeline might be.

Story Boarding

Before we get into how my story board could look lets first get into what a storyboard is. I have researched on what storyboarding is and from my understanding it is sketches of what a writer wants their scenes to look like. Story boarding is a way for the writer to express his visions visually for the rest of their team to understand and for the writer to also see how they visualize their ideas. A storyboard also has notes and ideas that the writer has. It is a way to express their visions and ideas. This image you see is an example of story boarding it is the storyboard of the movie "WALL-E"

Production Timeline

First lets talk about what is a production timeline. A production timeline is a chronological roadmap mapping out every phase of the process. It normally has milestones ranked on most important and places you want to get to. Now lets talk about how I think my production timeline will look like first me and my partner need to focus on brainstorming ideas about what the actual film opening should be about. Me and my partner are planning on taking time to brainstorm and think up ideas for what it should be. This is image is an example of a production timeline.

Planning Script Writing

Today I will be talking about my plans for the script writing.

First we should look at film openings of other films to see what ways to start the film. One of my favorites is "Scream" in scream they start off the film with tension and suspense with the famous phone call scene. In the scene they start off with a person being threatened on the phone by ghost face. That famous scene is known for building tension and suspense in the start of the film that scene was the scene that caught many peoples attentions. That film opening was the start of many great hook openings like that. This scene connects the rest of the movies with the reoccurring phone call by ghost face.

Next up is "Get Out" the opening scene in Get Out is personally my favorite because of the foreshadowing of it that if you do not pay close attention to the opening scene and just ignore it like I did on my first watch you will not think anything of it but if  you do pay attention to it you will realize  there is a man being put into a trunk of a car and that the man is the man seen later on. The scene starts with a man being stuffed into the trunk of a car there is music in the background the music is cheerful and playful but eerie and creepy at the same time it gives you the vibe of a scary clown. Then when the man who put the other guy in the trunk starts driving away they change the music to a violin in the background. That film opening is such an important one it is not recognized enough.

For my film opening I will try to incorporate some of the aspects from these my favorite part of both is how they keep it simple and effective.

Planning My Ideas for the beginning of my production

Today I will be talking about my ideas for starting my production.

First I want to talk about the app I will for creating my project use I will use Premier Pro. That is the only app I am the most familiar with due to my experience with it earlier on in the school year. I know how to do many of the basic things from premier pro I know I could use those skills on my film opening.

The difficulties from this would be the skills I do not have mastered while using the app and what I do not know how to do. One of the biggest difficulties I have had with this app is having to do it all on the same device because of its problems sending downloaded data that has already been worked on. This will lower my capabilities of versatility in when and where I work on my film in premier pro.

But even with all that this should not be that big a challenge because me and my partner both know how to use the app well and we both have our own personal laptops at home which can run this program. Though one possible problem cause be the amount of space the files take in the program but me and my partner could find a way to make space for the files this will be the easiest obstacle while making our film opening.
